An exciting opportunity for research leaders to advance and support agricultural sector development across Northern Australia.

About the Positions

Charles Darwin University (CDU),with Northern Territory Government and industry partners,is establishing a new Research Institute for Northern Agriculture (RINA) to develop research capabilities in areas of primary production within the Northern Territory (NT).Focusing on horticulture, broadacre cropping systems, pastoral industries, biosecurity, and commercial aquaculture, RINA aimsto advance and support agricultural sector development across Northern Australia.

RINA will create and develop a critical mass of research excellence at CDU to address the research, technical and innovation needs of the Northern Australia Agricultural sector, supporting growth and economic development ofthe industry.

We are recruiting qualified research leaders for the following positions:

About You

To be successful, you will possess:

  • PhD level qualification/s in a relevant discipline (or related discipline) including original, innovative, and notablecontributions to research, scholarship and teaching as demonstrated through sustained and distinguished performance;
  • Demonstrable track record of working/partnering with the agricultural sector, delivering practical research-based industry solutions;
  • Demonstrable success in attracting competitive research funding and other income, exceptional research collaborations and partnerships, and high-quality research outputs;
  • Demonstrable achievements in research planning and program implementation;
  • Experience in successful management of complex multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional settings; and
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience in academic program development and coordination

Remuneration

Appointment to these roles will be at Research Focused Academic Level D/E. The base salary will be in the range of $145,238 to $174,813 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $169,928 to $204,531 per annum including 17% superannuation.
