This Program Manager helps the business identify the right capital projects, provide strong design management, have commercial rigour with smart and active in procurement, cost control and management and be focused on project delivery.
With the aviation and travel sector booming as we head into 2023, on top of major projects that will underpin the future growth and development of Melbourne Airport and Victoria as a whole, now is a very exciting time to join!
In this role, the Program Manager will lead both internal and external teams to:
Set the Right Capital Plan – Business Endorsed Capital Plan
Ensure allocated capital projects are accurately forecast and updated in the capital plan.
Drive a strong and robust approach to Design Management
Lead project team to ensure project brief’s are developed with stakeholders before we commence design
Lead the project design team to make sure APAM requirements are met
Ensure all allocated project designs have a strong focus on Customer Experience in all passenger facing designs
Incorporate, where appropriate, off site manufacture and other innovation that can provide benefit
Actively manage project stakeholders – Internal and External
Smart and Active Procurement, Cost Control and Management
Lead development of the the right project budgets for allocated projects
Implement the right procurement approach on allocated projects that drive value through the procurement process with appropriate risk allocation and commercial terms
Lead a proactive approach to cost control and management for allocated projects
Focused Delivery Management – Safely, On time, high quality
Lead an proactive approach to safety and ensure Safety is always front of mind for project teams– Target Zero
Lead project teams to deliver project milestones
Lead project teams to delivery a high quality product – design and construction
The successful candidate will have:
Degree qualified in related discipline, Construction, Engineering, or equivalent relevant tertiary qualification; and/ or substantial experience within this field minimum 5 - 10 years.
End-to-end experience in leading built environment capital projects in a 24/7 complex operational environment.
Experienced in leading sub-programs or projects concurrently to meet agreed timelines
Experiencing in leading multi-disciplinary design teams through the project lifecycle
Experienced in delivering Commercial Property Developments
Strong financial management and commercial acumen.
Experience in construction procurement methodologies
Strong interpersonal and relationship skills need to be able to communicate at all levels internally and externally including clear and concise communications.
Experience in anticipating problems and proactively mitigating potential issues.
The ability to tailor communication methods and practices to the relevant stakeholder audience.
Proven ability to influence third parties (internally and externally) in a high-pressure environment.
