Holloways Beach Environmental Education Centre is seeking a Program Officer. The position is based in the Ontrek Program team and will assist and support the youth engagement initiative using adventure based learning and adventure based therapy. The ideal applicant will have experience in or qualifications in outdoor education activities such as white water rafting, high ropes, bush walking. Current TAE certificate IV is preferred but not essential. Rural and remote travel will be a requirement for this position.

About Holloways Beach Environmental Education Centre:
Holloways Beach Environmental Education Centre is a residential and day visit facility operated by the Queensland Department of Education providing outdoor and environmental programs for students from Year 5 to Year 12. Situated 12km north of the Cairns CBD, the centre is uniquely located on 11 hectares of beach, littoral rainforest and mangrove forest.

About the Role
Your role will be to:
- Assist and support engaging overnight adventure based camps and day experiences with a group of targeted disengaged young people.
- Support in planning, preparing and delivering an effective learning and teaching program with certification outcomes for students through Registered Training Organisations in Far North Queensland.
- Use the personal social capability continuum as a framework to support student growth through participation in a variety of targetted learning experiences.
- Participate in the collaborative development and evaluation of program (the sum total of all learning experiences) and regularly monitor, through observation and evaluation, the effectiveness of the learning/teaching program
