AddressThe Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the delivery of an ongoing capital investment program. The program includes responsibility for the development of asset strategies as well as the planning, development and delivery of new build and redevelopment infrastructure projects.
Responsible to the Executive Project Director, New Melton Hospital (NMH) Project, the Project Director, Design and Technical will be a highly focused and driven professional who is passionate about contributing to the delivery of public health infrastructure, working within a high-performing project team to drive exceptional outcomes.
While the primary focus of the role is to lead the New Melton Hospital (NMH) Project's Design and Technical team to ensure successful delivery of the Project, the role will also provide authoritative specialist input into the development and delivery of design and technical requirements for VHBA's High Value High Risk (HVHR) capital projects in particular those projects delivered as Public Private Partnerships.
The Project Director, Design and Technical will have relevant and extensive experience in managing design and technical components of major health infrastructure projects delivered as Public Private Partnership (PPP) Projects and/or other High Value High Risk (HVHR) projects, in both procurement and delivery phases.
The Project Director, Design and Technical will also have well established people and stakeholder management skills, with the role required to manage a multi-disciplinary team of project managers and external consultants and be a key interface with the health service provider as well as the private sector counterparty on all design and technical issues arising on the NMH Project.
The Project Director, Design and Technical will have a deep appreciation for best practice project management, the Victorian Government's key infrastructure policy frameworks, healthcare facilities design requirements and working collaboratively with and managing teams of dedicated design and technical resources to ensure successful project delivery.
The successful applicant must also be capable of translating the Department's strategic objectives of ensuring all Victorians are able to access good health and wellbeing into the design and technical requirements of VHBA's PPP and other High Value High Risk projects throughout all key phases of project development (including, the planning, procurement and delivery).
