The Opportunity
The role will assist the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager in the management and delivery of project engineering activities. Working closely with the Project Manager to meet the operational commitments in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, including environmental sustainability, WHS activities, systems assurance, risk management, competency, requirement management, procurement, installation, Test and Commissioning, and site supervision.
Key responsibilities include
Consult, recommend, and advise on specialist engineering areas
Supervise and co-ordinate multi-disciplined design activities
Assist in the preparation of quotes and tenders and lead the preparation of minor ones
Assist in the preparation of forecast and constructability of projects
Develop Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and work packs for Rail Systems work packages
Manage project scope and promptly detail any scope changes, schedule impacts and cost impacts that could affect the project, to ensure maximum return
Assist the Project Manager with all procurement and purchases of goods and services
Assessment of risks and hazards involved in tasks and methods to manager the hazards to prevent incidents, injury and damage.
Support the compiling and handover of work packs
Support commissioning activities as required
Undertake any adhoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Project Manager
Requirements to be successful
Tertiary Qualifications in relevant field for the position, preferably degree level.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience working on train control system projects (design, construction, test & commissioning) or similar
Knowledge of WHS and Environmental legislation, Codes of Practice and Standards as they apply to the construction industry
Current and valid driver’s license
