The Coffs Harbour Bypass is a 14-kilometre bypass of the Coffs Harbour urban area, from Englands Road in the south to Sapphire in the north and is a once-in-a-generation project for the mid-north coast community.
Ferrovial and Gamuda (FGJV) are the proud design and construct joint venture delivery partners for the Coffs Harbour Bypass - a significant, unique and exceptional major infrastructure project that will leave a legacy of innovation and sustainability in the region for communities of today and tomorrow.
With work starting immediately, the infrastructure team are looking to engage a Project Geotechnical Engineer/Geologist to join our team. Long term work opportunities with both Companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactively maintain an understanding of project management plans and associated variations to the scope of works.Creating mapping summary sheets for inclusion in the "geotechnical records reports" for submission to RMS.
- Interface with Client and Independent Certifier.
- Plan, coordinate and support geotechnical and ground engineering works, equipment and personnel as required.
- Support the design and delivery teams with relevant aspects of the project delivery phases.
- Provide advice and assessment of earthworks foundations and material utilisation;
- Set up and monitor relevant construction phase ground engineering procedures and provide training as required for the Coffs Harbour project and others
- Assisting the project team in organising relevant approvals and permits as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering, Geoology or a related field.
- At least 3 years' experience in a Geotechnical role in the construction or major infrastructure industries.
- Must be experienced in Rock mass classifications, Communicating ground conditions to the Section Managers, Spot bolting and summarizing geological conditions.
- A Humble, collaborative and solutions-focused interpersonal style.
- Accountability and integrity to the accuracy and quality of your work.
- Previous experience with TfNSW projects and standards preferred (ie R44);
- Ability to identify and manage hazards and risks with a strong commitment to OHSE.
