Project Implementation Director

We are working with our client who operates one of the largest networks of recycling facilities across Australia. They are rapidly growing and currently provide recycling services for over 4 million people. Due to continual growth plans, they are now looking for a Project Implementation Director to help the business expand across Victoria and implement a number of new facilities across the state.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full responsibility for leading the team in the implementation of the company’s recycling collection network; on time, on budget and to the desired performance in Victoria
• Sole responsibility for recruiting a team for the detailed design, planning approvals and implementation of the Project
• Leading the project team to deliver the Project on time and to budget, whilst ensuring the implementation process is controlled and adheres to strict safety and quality objectives
• Detail design of each collection point and secure sign-off from the operations team
• Development of a master implementation plan and schedule for the Project
• Securing all required planning approvals for each collection point
• Preparation of procurement strategy for the Project in accordance with the tender requirements
• Engagement and management of consultants, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors from design to planning approval to procurement and implementation
• Preparation of regular reports on the progress of implementation, costs to budget and Project quality.
• The management and delivery of the Project, from start to completion including design development, approvals, managing budget development, tender evaluation, scheduling project programs, managing project delivery and commissioning
• Management and supervision of design and delivery teams to deliver sites on time, on budget and to the appropriate legislative and quality standards, including financial management, monitoring, and reporting for all phases of the project
• Complete financial responsibility of the project
• Continuous productive stakeholder communication, to ensure all parties are aware of relevant project details, costs, timelines, and potential disruptions
• Working closely with key partners to account for and adhere to all government and legislative policy relating to the project projects
• Monitoring and reporting on service provider and contractor performance
• Provision of expert knowledge/assurance in the construction of small and medium sized depots
• Leading project teams to continually exceed expectations, whilst ensuring the construction process is controlled and adheres to strict safety, quality, programme, and financial objectives
• Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve and exceed expected outcomes for the client

Experience:

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior Project leadership role, preferably in a similar industry
• Vast experience in providing co-ordination, direction and management of multi-site installations, on time and within budget, with due consideration of budgets, WHS, quality, risks, and other related matters
• Strong experience in management of senior internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to lead and direct project teams across multiple sites and positioned within various stakeholder groups
• Portfolio of project works completed with full accountability for the project design and delivery
• Excellent understanding of governance within design and development of greenfield and brownfield site implementation
• Well-developed communication skills, able to present to Senior Management and external stakeholders

• Victorian based role with ability to travel regionally alongside occasional state-based and interstate travel
