A port operator based in Bowen is seeking an experienced project management specialist
Your new company
Our client operates a port terminal located in Bowen, which serves as a gateway for exporting coal from the Bowen Basin and Galilee Basin coal mines to international markets. They are currently seeking a an experienced Project Infrastructure Specialist to join their capital works team.
Your new role
You will be responsible for the development, delivery, and maintenance of planning, scheduling, estimating, budgeting, cost control, and reporting processes for the annual and 5-year capital works programs. Reporting to the Capital Program Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this position you will have proven experience in:
Developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and cost management systems
Track progress of individual projects and the overall capital program against project and program schedules and budgets
Work closely with project managers to ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client
Provide resource allocation advice and planning to project managers to align with project and capital program schedules Identify and assist in resolving emerging critical issues and conflicts that could impact project and program success
Monitor project performance and progress and provide regular updates to project managers and other key stakeholders
Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on schedule and cost performance for both projects and the overall capital program Coordinate and communicate project information to stakeholders, including project team members, management, and clients
Provide support during project closeout, including final cost reporting and project documentation Advise on capital project management planning, scheduling, estimating, and document control process design and improvements
This position will suit a proven project management professional, with prior experience working within heavy industry or mining capital works projects.
