About the opportunity
We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Project Manager to join ESV's Strategic Change Delivery team within the Finance, Strategy and Risk Division.
You will contribute by:
- Manage and lead the delivery of complex assigned projects within defined time, cost, scope, and quality project parameters.
- Ensure the delivery of projects is integrated within broader programs and aligns with the delivery of related Energy Safe priorities.
- Implement and utilise appropriate project management controls, tools, and methodology in line with Energy Safe's project management framework and other systems.
- Prepare robust project status reports and facilitate timely informed decision making on key project issues by team members, project committees and other stakeholders.
- Help to identify stakeholders and make recommendations regarding their involvement/influence on project outcomes.
- Manage resources, including internal service providers, external vendors and any other stakeholders required for successful project delivery, through negotiation and influencing necessary stakeholders.
- Manage, lead, and coordinate relevant project working groups, including the preparation of related meeting packs, minutes, action items, and risk registers.
- Contribute to risk management activities and provide support in identifying key focus areas in the development across project planning, strategy, political impact, business impact, market impact, and technical complexity.
- Provide effective leadership to the project team and take appropriate action when team performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and share knowledge, including the provision of project management for the training, coaching, and messaging to key stakeholders as required for the project.
To be successful, you'll have:
- Significant experience in a similar role with a strong track record of end-to-end project management in data analytics, statistics, actuarial, insurance, government, technology, or a related field.
- High competency in project planning, benefit assessment, budgeting, scheduling, risk and issues management, project execution planning, reporting tools and techniques.
- Excellent written and presentation skills and ability to work proactively, build and sustain trust and influence.
- Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills, including the ability to recognise emerging issues of importance and prepare necessary project documents, registers, processes, and guides.
- Confident and clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise summary documentation, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to take on accountability for complex tasks, working autonomously, navigating ambiguity and yet still delivering quality outcomes.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 office suite and experience in the use of project portfolio management tools.
- Experience within the Victorian Government Public Sector.
