Transport Assets' purpose is to maximise the value of the Victorian transport system by driving an integrated, whole-of-life asset management approach to the state's assets across the transport portfolio.
About the opportunity
The Manager Asset Data Collection is a position that sits within Asset Information Integrity and Analytics in the Asset Intelligence Branch of Transport Assets. The role supports the establishment, management and improvement of the transport asset data collection and assessment methodology.
The role establishes DoT road asset data collection capability for roadsides and drainage assets by project managing Asset Data Collection Project; reporting on project progress, deliverables and outcome.
The role will continue to be responsible to support data governance and data migration initiatives for the collected data, providing SME advice into on-going solution and asset data management for application across internal DoT and public transport operators.
The role involves significant engagement across DoT internal and external stakeholders e.g. asset management, enterprise data management, commercial management.
Position Outcomes
- Effective Team Leadership – The incumbent has provided effective leadership, people management and support to project team. Project team are engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment and are delivering on the services required.
- Road Asset Inventory and Condition Knowledge - The incumbent provides high-level expertise advice in asset data collection and condition assessment and how it relates to maintenance and renewal planning and asset investment management, including expertise in asset life cycle management, asset criticality and asset condition change/degradation over time. Lead the ongoing development of a road data repository solution.
- Asset Information Management – The incumbent provides specialist advice and high level input into the development and maintenance of asset inventory and condition data assessment and governance guidelines, asset information requirements, asset condition information tools and processes.
- Project Management - The incumbent leads successful project management and delivery of road asset data collection project, including time, cost and quality management. Develop and assess procurement options for the project, complete key contract management documents and associated procurement requirements, including the management of probity. Lead contract evaluation and technical oversight, review and verification of project deliverables
- Stakeholder Engagement - The incumbent has established key relationships, communication and collaboration with transport stakeholders and consultants to facilitate access, collection, analysis and agreement on effective collection and verification of asset information. Delivery of high-quality presentations and project reporting to project stakeholders, including data governance working group.
Mandatory
- Formal qualification in a relevant Engineering, Information System, Asset Management or Project Management.
- Proven industry experience in asset data/or knowledge management
- Experience in managing road asset data collection
- Industry experience in Transport industry
