As a Project Manager, you will be a key member of the Mortgage Operations Insights and Portfolio Team within Group Operations, helping contribute to the delivery of Westpac's vision and strategic priorities. This role will support the Mortgages Line of Business (LOB), delivering various people, process and technology driven initiatives.
The Insights and Portfolio team is responsible for delivering a variety of projects, ranging from the delivery of new capabilities for our business stakeholders and the delivery business transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensure that the approach and plans for the project of work that you manage is robust, executable and deliver the required outcomes
- Lead your team of direct and indirect staff to ensure they the project to deliver the right business outcomes to a high level of quality and to the agreed cost and timeframes
- Engage, inform, influence, and negotiate with stakeholders to ensure stakeholders remain engaged and committed throughout the life cycle of your project
- Work with your team to be “ahead of the curve” to remove any obstacles for future work to deliver your project
- Ensure adherence to Enterprise methodologies and processes, such as the Project Execution Framework methodology (PEFm)
- Direct the identification, resolution/mitigation, monitoring, reporting and escalation of risks and issues
- Be an active part of the Portfolio team, helping to shape and drive the agenda for the whole team to enable ongoing delivery excellence
- Support, coach and mentor the team where required.

What do I need?
Knowledge and Experience required
- 3 - 5 years' experience in a Project Manager role on business transformation projects, working with business and technology stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience in the successful definition, mobilisation and delivery of complex projects that impact multiple business areas
- Understanding of Business Operations workflow systems and processes.
- Extensive experience in end-to-end project delivery (starting from business case development to execution and implementation)
- Successful team management with previous experience of managing a direct team
- Excellent stakeholder relationship management
- Ability to multitask successfully
- Leadership ability demonstrated through experience in energising teams to deliver high quality outcomes for customers through partnering and collaboration
- Builds excellent relationships with diverse set of stakeholders
- Self-Leader and enjoys leading others
- Driven to deliver the best possible results for the organisation; and shows determination, resourcefulness, and a sense of purpose in achieving this
- Dynamic with the ability to respond to change (both internal and external) with speed and agility while ensuring rigour in how we execute
