Different backgrounds. Different experiences. Different areas of expertise. It’s our diverse mix of people that makes Water Corporation such a hugely rewarding place to work. As the principal supplier of water, wastewater and drainage services across Western Australia, we offer exciting career opportunities state-wide. Needless to say, we welcome ambitious new job seekers who share our commitment to providing excellent customer service for West Australians.
About the role
As a Project Manager, you’ll be one of 800 IT professionals who touch 7 different groups, 50 functions, and 3,800 employees every day. This is an opportunity to work alongside and learn from creative, talented colleagues, who bring a range of diverse perspectives to work each day. If you’re wondering what’s involved, here’s an idea of what you’ll be involved in at Water Corporation.
What the role will involve
You’ll join a team that’s making positive changes. You’ll be part of a centralised Project Management team that’s improving PM methodologies and standardising better ways of working. You’ll create Project artefacts and bring people together through technology to make their lives easier.
This is a full lifecycle PM position using Prince 2 and Agile, which means you’ll be pulling together the procurement, costing, planning, scheduling and estimating, and regularly reporting back on progress, challenges and any risks to your projects.
Whether you work with a single portfolio or multiple projects covering Core IT, Data, Cyber, Asset Strategy & Operations, Customer Solutions or Corporate Services, your appetite for learning new things will keep you fresh.
You’ll also be part of the roll out of the new methodology. People will listen to your views and ideas, and they’ll have your back.
You will have the full support from our management teams. You’ll work with the Business Analysts and Change Managers that’ll top up your knowledge and guide you in the right direction. It’s the type of environment where everyone works as a team and delivers as a team.
At Water Corporation we offer flexible working, providing you an opportunity to work a mix of both home and at our office in Leederville, creating a better balance for you.
Key skills and experience
As a Project Manager, you know the importance of supporting your colleagues and other stakeholders across a large business. It’s why people recognise you as someone who has that fine balance of determination to get things done, as well as someone who bats for their team.
You plan well and have the ability to forecast what’s needed, who’s needed and how much money is needed. You know how to bring it all together and report the financials through planning systems like SAP, SAS, or another BI platform.
Ideally, you’ll have a firm track record of delivering IT projects, sometimes multiple projects of smaller scale - or you’ll have a blend of IT and other business projects. You don’t necessarily need to have come from a specific background, but if you’ve previous experience working in IT or for a utility, bank or other government organisations, we would love to hear from you.
Apply: If you are interested in the above opportunity please submit a covering letter and resume that best demonstrates your ability to meet the requirements of the role.
Applications close Friday 2nd December 2022
As part of the recruitment process you will be required to complete Pre-Employment screening which may include a medical, qualification check, police clearance and Australian working rights check.
