Reporting to the Director, Legislative Projects you will lead, manage and deliver medium to large scale complex or high-risk projects within a health policy environment to achieve successful project outcomes. You will also provide high level strategic advice and reports to the director, department executive, the Minister, and interagency committees on the progress of key projects, including reporting and updates on planning, strategic risks and issues, policy direction and implementation, as required.
Furthermore you will be responsible for providing authoritative expert advice about the Mental Health Act 2016 and other legislation, or associated mental health, alcohol and other drug service system reform projects, and lead the development of critical amendments to relevant legislation.
Activities you will have responsibility to lead will support the delivery of key actions of Better Care Together, the five-year plan setting the strategic directions and priorities across the state-funded mental health, alcohol and other drug service system.
The successful person
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate extensive experience leading projects in a fast-paced legislative and regulatory policy environment. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to confidently negotiate with key stakeholders from the health sector and across government and excel in taking the lead on high-level legislative and policy analysis projects.
In addition to this, you will have the proven ability to communicate with influence, interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to cultivate productive working relationships and networks.
