Our client is a leader in providing services to the maritime, military and resource sectors. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Project Manager / Production Manager - Shipbuilding to join their professional team based in Perth, Western Australia.

The Marine Division builds a wide variety of vessels and is regarded as one of Australia’s leading shipyards for construction, repair and refit of vessels.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible to oversee and deliver marine projects, lead the projects team, client liaison, project planning, managing risk and subcontractors and business development.
Experience in delivering complex high value projects in the marine industry is desirable ideally for Defence or government clients. Ideally experience in contract management for Defence projects $20m to $100m+.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Prepare and maintain project records, update plans, schedules etc.
- Obtain permits when required
- Responsible for project schedule, cost and quality and project budget
- Be familiar with contract requirements and deliverables to ensure commitments are met
- Risk control and management
- Assist with quality assurance measures
- Monitor processes to remove/reduce risks of environmental harm or nuisance
- Assist with resourcing needs when required
- Maintain positive relationships and liaise with senior management, stakeholders, subcontractors and project teams
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Shipbuilding, Project Management or similar discipline
- Extensive Marine, Mining or Heavy Engineering experience, especially shipbuilding, ideally 10years +
- Previous Contract management and Quality, Cost & Schedule experience on Defence projects
- Exceptional communication skills
- Highly articulate with excellent attention to detail
- Experience leading and managing a large team
- A high level of organisational and time management skills
- Advance Computer skills using Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with scheduling tools such as Open Plan Professional, Microsoft Project, Primavera or similar
- Ability to obtain Baseline security clearance
