The Division Transport’s Regional and Outer Metropolitan division’s purpose is to make regional and outer metropolitan NSW a better place to live, work and visit. The opportunity We have an opportunity for a Project Manager Rail Noise to join the Freight Performance Team, within Freight Branch of the Regional and Outer Metropolitan Division.The primary purpose of this role is to manage the contractors and delivery of the Freight Noise Attenuation Program (FNAP) delivering noise reduction treatments to homes impacted by freight rail noise. In this role you provide input to the development of rail noise policies and programs and to manage a range of projects and programs to address freight rail noise issues and related community concerns. What You Will Be Involved InYou will m anage and oversee all aspects of program planning, development and delivery for the FNAP, including developing delivery plans and briefing notes, coordinating resources, managing contracts, meeting reporting requirements, and supporting project-related activities, to ensure program outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope in line with established agency project management methodology .You will p rovide input to the Senior Manager Freight Performance and Principal Advisor Rail Noise on the development of appropriate policies and programs to address freight rail noise.You will establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to engage stakeholders and ensure project deliverables are met.You will undertake periodic reviews to ensure that processes and systems continue to allow proactive and efficient workflow that benefit the programs.You will manage delivery, ensuring compliance with governance and quality requirements, to successfully deliver all key project milestones and outcomesYou will provide input to research undertaken by the team and formulate recommendations to support evidence-based project planning and decision making About YouYou have appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated relevant, equivalent professional experience.You have demonstrated experience in project management and project delivery.You understand procurement processes and have experience tracking contract performance.You have the ability to work collaboratively and use your excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to proactively build strong relationships with an array of internal and external stakeholders.You are a self-starter who is able to hit the ground running. You have the ability to think creatively to solve problems, find solutions and improve processes. You’re proactive and use your initiative and prioritisation skills to get things done.You have experience working under pressure to tight deadlines and have a successful track record in delivering enhanced community outcomes.
