About This Opportunity  

The Project Officer will work closely within a small team on several projects within the HCMS Program.  The role will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of a number of projects and work streams within the Payroll and Time Capture phase of the program. 

Working closely with the Program Director, PMO and other Stream Leads, the Project Officer will effectively provide support to ensure program objectives are met through provision of day to day operational and office support, writing and contributing to meeting agendas, papers, decision support packages, minutes, presentations, reports etc. This role will also ensure programs are compliant with regard to key project management documentation and systems requirements.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Maintain operational support for the Program office and Workstreams, including administrative, onboarding, procurement, meeting coordination and facilitation and effective liaison with vendor partners, other areas within ITS and the broader UQ stakeholders.

  • Support the PMO in implementation and maintenance of good governance practices and project controls and disciplines.

  • Under direction this role will work with the team to maintain, contribute, and create Program artefacts such as presentations, project plans, risk matrixes, and other documents. 

  • Assist with the creation, maintenance and reporting of program schedules, budgets, issues, risks, dependencies, and changes in scope.

  • Assist with the development of issues and risk registers and monitoring and reporting of the same.

  • Ensure efficient and timely archiving of final documents and related Program artefacts as per UQ policy guidelines (e.g. TRIM)

  • Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders where required.

  • Other activities as required which support the enhancement of the Programs delivery

About You 

To be successful in this Project Officer role you will have broad experience in Project coordination focusing on communications and project support, such as analysis, coordination and organisation. In addition, you will have

Essential:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience or equivalent experience and/or equivalent education/training

  • Demonstrated experience in providing project coordination and/or administrative support

  • A developing understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks

  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to balance competing priorities within tight timeframes

  • Financial/budget skills

  • Flexibility, curiosity/desire to and initiative

  • Advanced written and oral communication skills

  • Experience coordinating diverse stakeholder engagements.

Desirable

  • Experience working within the Tertiary Education environment.

What We Can Offer  

This is a full-time fixed term position for 12 months at HEW 6.  

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $82,399 - $88,503, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $96,407 - $103,549 per annum.
