Project Officer
Hunter New England Population Health delivers services that support the development and maintenance of healthy environments, healthy communities and healthy people. Our mission is to protect and promote the health and well-being of people in the Hunter, New England and wider communities. Our Health Promotion Team develops, implements and evaluates policies, services, environments and behaviours that are conducive to good health. Such services incorporate the principles and strategies of health promotion, behaviour and practice change and research.
As the Project Officer, you will participate in the development, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based health promotion services that address the prevention of chronic disease, obesity, HIV/AIDS and related diseases and injury risks in the Hunter New England population. Specifically this role will support health promotion initiatives targeting children, parents and families in health and community settings. A key role of the position will be to contribute to increasing the appropriateness and effectiveness of our mainstream health promotion services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
We are looking for a team member who is:

- Passionate about developing innovative and evidence based services and translating evidence in to practice.
You will be working in a team environment together with a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating Health Promotion Programs and services within clinical and community settings. You will be well supported and report to a Program manager responsible for the service delivery targeting a children and families and will work within an organisation that is passionate about implementing and rigorously evaluating innovative health promotion, behaviour change and implementation initiatives that integrate the latest evidence and technologies.
Job share / part time arrangements will be considered.

Information for Applicants:
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
