POSITION OVERVIEW

The Outpatients Support Team provides a range of policy, project and operational support to ensure facilities, resources and patient flow is optimized in providing high quality medical outpatient services across all clinical services.
This position is integral to supporting the small team in the implementation and sustainability of a range of reform and transformational initiatives to ensure best practice outpatients services are provided across CHS.
DUTIES
Under limited direction of the Senior Manager for Outpatient Support you will perform Project Officer duties as follows. You will:
Provide high level administrative and project support to the Senior Manager Outpatients Support and manage the day-to-day operations of the team using project management methods to achieve high quality, timely completions of program and project tasks.
Assist services with processes to ensure management of clinic structures on the Patient Administration System support efficient management of outpatients.
Monitor and report on performance indicators for the outpatient services such as, but not limited to, waiting times and referral turnaround times.
Assist with the development and maintenance of policies and procedures aimed at achieving a high quality, consistent consumer focused service administrative processes across outpatient services.
Problem solve and contribute to proactive change management in achieving the outcomes of the team and develop and maintain relevant project documentation for the team.
Undertaking other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the section with the delivery of high-quality person and family centred, safe and high-quality patient care.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:
Mandatory
CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates and contingencies.
Desirable
Working towards or holds a certificate in project management, customer service, or another relevant field is desirable.
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role as detailed in the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, Clinical Governance Framework, Partnering With Consumers Framework and all other related frameworks.
Prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to:
Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.

Proven ability in providing high level project and office management including the ability to exercise initiative, prioritise workloads and meet set deadlines.
Demonstrated use of data to develop performance reports to inform decision making and improve service delivery.
Knowledge of computer software (or the ability to acquire quickly) to be able to be a super user of Information Systems including the Patient Administration System (DHR), and Excel.
Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to liaise, consult and negotiate with stakeholders, and develop and maintain a range of written documents including reports, policies and support material.
Demonstrates understanding of, and adherence to, safety and quality standards, work, health and safety (WH&S) and the positive patient experience. Displays behaviour consistent with CHS’s values of reliable, progressive, respectful and kind.
