TP Human Capital are seeking experienced Project Officer – Sustainable Solutions to commence immediate work in Townsville on a short-term contract.
The Project Officer – Sustainable Solutions is sought to play a pivotal role in implementing a comprehensive organizational change program for our client. Collaborating closely with the sections leadership team and engaging the local community, you will lead the transformation of the Environmental Services Section. This entails fostering a culture of customer-centricity, instilling personal accountability, and reshaping service delivery to maximize value, addressing key challenges in energy, water, waste, and biodiversity.
Leading the integrated environmental systems, Sustainable Solutions, and natural resources team. They will align economic, social, and ecological dimensions to enhance the quality of life in Townsville. By implementing city-wide frameworks, you will promote a collaborative approach to sustainability and resilience, integrating technology and ecology to drive meaningful change.
Focus Areas:
- Instill an outcomes-focused culture, ensuring personal accountability for realizing the client’s vision and policy.
- Drive community-centric service co-design and integrate delivery.
- Investigate and advance local sustainable practices, focusing on environmental data, sensor development, and youth employment.
- Provide project and research support for integrated Environmental Systems and Sustainable Solutions.
- Foster city-wide sustainability communities, promoting behavior change and capacity building.
- Demonstrate and support the adoption of sustainable practices across the client’s council, business, and community.
- Develop funding applications, policies, and projects for an integrated sustainability approach.
- Exhibit a steadfast commitment to customer service principles and philosophy.
- Undertake other duties as required for this classification level.
Requirements:
- Degree or significant progress toward a degree in sustainability, environmental policy/planning/science, or related field.
- Relevant work experience or capacity to learn in sustainability, environmental management, or similar domains.
- Proven research capacity in climate change, sustainable technologies, and environmental management.
- Ability to participate in team-based projects with tact and diplomacy in complex environments.
- Strong administration skills, including report preparation, policy development, and funding applications.
