POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Officer will support a range of projects from approval to successful implementation and handover. The Project Officer provides coordination and support to team(s) delivering projects.
The role includes budget and cash flow management, reporting, quality assurance and risk management, and liaises closely with stakeholders and steering committees.
Accountabilities
Provide support to project teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, on budget, high quality and meets customer expectations.
Maintain a basic understanding of the department and its business strategies and provide input on the delivery of digital solutions that support the business needs.
Support the team's adherence to government, IDS and Solutions Delivery Unit's strategies, policies and methodologies (e.g. PDM).
Support the resolution of emerging issues, risk and trends impacting on the successful achievement of key business objectives and imperatives and provide high quality business intelligence and sound recommendations based on comprehensive research and investigations.
Execute quality acceptance criteria, oversee quality control throughout the life cycle and ensure the deliverables meet the business objectives, design specifications and quality standards.
Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
Technical Expertise
Proven experience and in a complex ICT infrastructure and application environment.
Proven experience supporting multiple concurrent projects across a diverse portfolio of business areas.
Proven experience in reporting to executive project boards and sponsors.
Working understanding and experience with ICT project delivery methodologies including waterfall and Agile SCRUM
