The Division and Team

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure. The Networks and Assets Branch looks after the assets that connect our communities and their purpose is to make regional and out metropolitan NSW a better place to live, work and visit.


The Northern Bridges team undertakes a diverse range of bridge, slope and culvert construction and maintenance in urban and remote sites across a region which stretches along the east coast from North of Taree to Tweed Heads and also inland covering the Tamworth and New England areas. Your project portfolio could include upgrading a heritage-listed timber truss bridge, a complex bearing replacement, general bridge maintenance, demolition and also the construction of new bridges and culverts.


The Opportunity

We currently have a permanent full time Project Officer available in the Northern Bridges team based in Grafton. The role is responsible for performing day-to-day project operation and administrative activities to support project-specific and ongoing team-related objectives. The role will also develop and coordinate efficient project management and administrative systems and processes to support effective time management and liaison on behalf of team members and ensure coordination of briefs and reports.


Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Provide project, operational support and reporting on project plans and deliverables, to ensure time, cost, and quality indicators align with approved project plans.
  • Update and collate documentation and records regarding issues, policies, and practices
  • Assist the team by providing a range of administrative services
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders to provide updates regarding project status and implementation issues.

About you

You are a proactive Project Officer with proven experience in project and stakeholder management and demonstrated problem solving, research and data analytical skills and capacity to present information and data in a logical and coherent manner.


  • You will also have well developed communication skills with demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of project stakeholders.
  • You will have appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience.
  • Bridge and culvert construction maintenance experience is preferred
  • You must also possess a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver license and be willing to travel on occasion.

Salary and Benefits

Project Officer – USS7 - $ 94,824 - $ 100,075 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
