A temporary vacancy currently exists within our Construction Strategy and Major Construction Program Unit for a Project Officer. The position can be located in any OIR office in Queensland.

OIR contributes to the government's strategic objectives in the areas of workplace health and safety, electrical safety, workers' compensation, industrial relations and labour hire regulation. We seek to improve work health and safety, electrical safety and workers' compensation performance through regulatory and policy frameworks and the provision of evidenced-based services and advice. We also develop, implement and maintain policy and legislation relevant to industrial relations in Queensland including whole of Government responsibility for public sector enterprise bargaining and the regulation of Queensland's labour hire industry.
As a Project Officer you will provide support to the Construction Strategy and Major Construction Program Unit, assisting with the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Support the planning, development, implementation and continuous review of multiple projects within a project management framework for the development and implementation of industry programs to meet objectives.
- Contribute to regular and ongoing verbal and written advice including briefs, reports, and preparation of presentations as required.
- Support research and data analysis to contribute to reporting on complex workplace health and safety issues associated with the development and implementation of construction industry projects
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data to identify issues, rate and prioritise complex problems and issues, generate and develop business improvement solutions.
- Demonstrated record of achievement in conducting research, analysis and reporting which inform the development and implementation of high-level strategies and objectives.
- Demonstrated written communication skills and the ability to contribute to briefs, reports, and other written documents.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal abilities including consultation, negotiation and presentation skills and developing and maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise, schedule and perform work to meet deadlines, commitments and service level agreements with minimal supervision.
