About the Opportunity
Ensign Australia has recently been awarded an exciting new project working on Barrow Island, Western Australia commencing operations in Q2 2024. To support this new drilling operation, we are looking for a professional, flexible and dynamic Drilling Superintendent to provide support immediately during the project phase (commissioning and mobilisation) through to the end of an estimated 10-12-month operational program with potential options for future wells.
Reporting to the Project Operations Manager and working closely with a small project team and client's team, this Perth Office Based, fixed term project position requires regular remote site field visits and some interstate travel. This role will be pivotal to managing the day-to-day drilling operations, maintain compliance in all aspects including health, safety, environment and governance and ensure contract deliverables are achieved for our high-profile client.

About You
- Minimum 10+ years of proven relevant experience in all phases of onsite drilling and completion operations and 3 years as Rig Manager/Drilling Superintendent.
- Minimum 2 years prior experience managing an onshore drilling rig 1500HP Oil/Gas Drilling Operation.
- Holds or able to pass IWCF Well Control Supervisor Level 4 (Supervisor) Certificate
- Desirable - Tertiary qualification(s) in Management, Engineering or similar discipline.
- An effective communicator with strong safety leadership qualities
- Leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities/
- Demonstrate strong relationship building at all levels within the business
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work autonomously and manage own workload
- Possess a positive, solution focused and continuous improvement attitude
- Proficiency in MS Office suite of products

Due to the nature of our 24/7 Drilling Operations, there are some requirements for some out of hours work from time to time. However, we fully believe in work life balance and have systems in place to manage this.
