Queensland Rail’s SEQ Project Delivery Office has a permanent opportunity for a suitably experienced individual with strong administration and coordination skills and is familiar within financial management processes and strong financial systems experience to the team and our wider SEQ Project Delivery teams in the role of Project Support Officer.
About the role
Our Project Support Officer role will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to develop and enhance their project support and cost management skills whilst working within a dynamic project support team. The team undertakes project specific financial management and other project controls activities across the entire SEQ Project Delivery portfolio. These activities include, but is not limited to:
- Use of cost management tools and the SAP system – including updating and maintaining project Cost Plans.
- Maintain and finalisation all financial management activities for assigned projects – which includes Purchase Orders, Work Orders, requisitions, budget allocations, invoicing, goods receipting, accruals, cost analysis, labour reports and corrections.
- Assisting with project forecasting
- Generating project reporting and the interpretation of project financial and performance information
- Assisting in preparing documents for asset transfers
- Liaising with project team personnel, management, internal and external service providers and other stakeholders in the preparation of project financial activities.
Within the role the successful candidate will demonstrate and grow their knowledge and skillsets. What we are looking for:
- Experience using SAP system or similar systems.
- The use of project management systems, Microsoft Office suite including Excel, and other QR supporting systems.
- Financial acumen, including cost controls.
- Stakeholder management – working closely with Project Managers and other stakeholders with the ability to provide administrative services across multiple Project Managers.
- Multi-tasking and working to corporate deadlines.
- Problem solving.
- Data analysis and reporting.
About you:
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
- High level of skill in providing project controls / financial management / administrative services and administrative support.
- Demonstrated skill in in the use of SAP system or similar, and contemporary office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Substantial level of skill in working in a team environment and also managing priorities and requirements across multiple stakeholders.
