Accountabilities include:
- Undertake various activities that support the technical operations of the Design Services Unit in the delivery of road infrastructure projects (particularly in relation to QTRIP works), including relevant plan work, reports, and related scheme documentation.
- Input technical data, with limited supervision, using specialist road design software applications such as the Department's CAD applications and other associated programs aligned with Design Services core activities.
- Contribute to the collation and interpretation of technical data relevant to the Design Services operations through the effective maintenance and monitoring of departmental systems, including GIMS (used for management of design drawings).
- Provide advice and training in departmental standards and work practices for design support activities to less experienced staff, to ensure these standards and practices are applied consistently.
- Assist the Program Officer (Road Systems) with implementation and operation of the Road Management Information System as required.
- Manage own work to ensure targets relating to time, cost, and quality are achieved in conjunction with the project team objectives.
- Maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure needs, expectations and issues of all parties are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.
The appointee may be eligible for incentives as detailed in the Rural and Remote Area Incentive Scheme (RRAIS) that may include subsidised accommodation, up to 10% salary incentive, subsidised electricity, family education assistance and medical treatment.
Mandatory requirements:
- A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence
- It is a condition of employment for recommended appointee/s to disclose any previous serious discipline action taken against them for consideration by the delegate prior to any appointment.
