AddressCurrumbin Clinic is a 104 bed private mental health hospital located on the Southern Gold Coast, delivering high quality care and positive patient outcomes. We have a team of dedicated Psychiatrists, Medical, Nursing, Allied and Administrative staff who provide expert care in the management and treatment of all acute mental health disorders.
Currumbin Clinic is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified Provisional Psychologists who are interested in this exciting career opportunity to join our Allied Health team as a Group Therapy Facilitator.

About the Role:
Provisional Psychologists in our team have the following responsibilities:
- Participating in and providing clinical expertise in regard to mental health assessments, case presentations and clinical case reviews, promoting collaborative treatment approaches within a recovery framework.
- Delivering psychological programs to both inpatients and day patients through group therapy.
- Providing assessment and psychological interventions to individual patients.
- Providing trauma-informed and strengths-based therapy
- Work collaboratively with team members including other Mental Health Clinicians, Nursing Staff, and Psychiatrists.

Essential Criteria and Qualifications:
- Registration as a Provisional Psychologist with AHPRA.
- Currently completing the 4 + 2 or 5 + 1 pathway to gain General Registration as a Psychologist
- Demonstrated experience or openness to learn about providing therapeutic interventions through group modalities.
- Demonstrated experience or openness to learn about working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Immunisation evidence and serology report
- Ability to take initiative and work autonomously within a team
- Be adaptive, flexible, and self-motivated in your approach
- All employees are required to complete and maintain their mandatory education and competencies in accordance with Currumbin Clinic policies and procedures.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working with clients presenting with severe and persistent mental health issues and complex needs.
- Experience working in a hospital setting.
- Experience in the provision of group therapy with adults in an addictions service.
- Experience in the provision of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
- Experience in working with First Responders or Veterans
Vaccination Preventable Disease
It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Varicella (chicken pox)
- Pertussis (whooping cough), Diphtheria and Tetanus
- Hepatitis B
You must be able to provide serology evidence and a VPD form for the above mentioned vaccinations and will be asked by the recruiting manager to supply this evidence if you are the preferred candidate for the role. Please note you are not susceptible to the VPD's listed in the role description.
