About the role:
This position provides an exciting opportunity for psychologist’s interested in full time temporary employment in a community mental health setting supporting young people with complex mental health issues.
The Bathurst Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team is an experienced multidisciplinary team of professionals from social work, nursing, occupational therapy, peer work, psychology and medical backgrounds. We work closely with local services, schools and families and together we provide mental health care to the young people in Bathurst and surrounding towns.
This is a targeted position in accordance with GSE Rule 26: Employment of eligible persons. Where you’ll be working:
Western NSW Local Health District is at the forefront in the delivery of rural and remote Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol services across a catchment area of 400,000 square kilometres with regional centres – Dubbo, Orange and Bathurst - providing hubs for local and remote services.
Our vision is to be leaders in the delivery or these services to rural & remote people and we utilise a range of modalities and delivery options including virtual to provide our services.
With an early intervention and recovery focus, we place the person at the centre of care, considering individual strengths and valuing Aboriginal cultural competency in providing evidence based treatment. We provide cohesive and integrated care with our service partnerships and aim to provide the least restrictive care, closest to home.
Bathurst operates Panorama Clinic, a 10-bed sub-acute step-up mental health inpatient unit which is co-located at Bathurst Health Service offering coordinated multidisciplinary support in a recovery-based voluntary model of care.
Comprehensive community mental health, drug and alcohol services are also offered by multidisciplinary teams and include adult services, older persons’ services, infant, child, youth and family services and counselling services.
Bathurst also operates an Opioid treatment facility.
Within the Bathurst region are the Mudgee and Cowra community mental health and drug and alcohol teams who provide outreach services to other rural and remote communities in the region.
