Your opportunity:
The Student Wellbeing Psychologist will provide professional support and therapeutic intervention for students with mild to moderate mental health issues. Psychologists will also support the student's parents, carers and the wider school communities. They will facilitate partnerships in decision making for the enhancement of all students' learning.The Psychologist is directly responsible to the Principal of the school(s) in which they provide a support service. The Psychologist works as a specialist member of a multi-disciplinary team at the school level. The position provides services such as counselling, assessment and intervention, focusing on students' mental health and wellbeing.
A mandatory requirement of this role is:
- In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000, registered health practitioners working within their professional capacity must hold valid registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency at all times during their employment for the purpose of satisfying the exemption requirements of the Act.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification in Psychology and general registration with AHPRA, or if a new graduate, must hold provisional registration with AHPRA with a supervision plan approved by the Psychology Board of Australia prior to the commencement of employment.
