Job description

Purchasing & Inventory SpecialistOur RoleWe are looking for a Purchasing & Inventory Specialist to join our operations team hardworking team. The role can be located at either our Mole Creek limestone quarry and processing plant, 50 minutes west of Launceston TAS or at our lime processing facility in Traralgon VIC.Key focus areas the role will include:

  • Conduct purchasing activities for the Traralgon, Buchan and Mole Creek facilities.
  • Manage maintenance parts inventory levels by following Graymont inventory processes.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner, Reliability Engineer and Maintenance Supervisors to ensure parts are available to complete maintenance work and critical parts are stored and managed in the warehouse.
  • Obtain quotations from parts suppliers and carry out other buying-related activities.
  • Utilize software systems to coordinate Purchase Order generation, approval, submission to suppliers and monitor open orders.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following attributes and qualifications:
  • At least 2 - 3 years’ experience in purchasing, inventory management or similar roles within operations and preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in applying an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to coordinate purchasing and inventory activities, and MS Office proficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy levels.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a small team.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Experience with quality systems (e.g. ISO9001) desirable.
