Key Responsibilities:
- Identify requirements for purchasing and place Purchase Orders on Intercompany and external suppliers in an accurate and timely manner.
- Proactively track open order status, keep purchase order dates current and accurate, and follow up on order execution.
- Review vendor backorder reports and in transit shipping reports and update schedule delivery dates in the ERP system
- Identify, evaluate, communicate and resolve purchasing or delivery risks and issues through cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Expedite orders with suppliers to meet customer requirements
- Liaison with freight forwarders and freight providers to plan and coordinate freight deliveries
- Create stock receiving documents for each shipment
- Reconcile intercompany supply transactions and report discrepancies via internal quality system
- Investigate supply non-conformances reported by operations or customer services and recommend corrective actions to internal and external vendors
- Negotiate, maintain, and update Supply Agreements with internal and external vendors in line with the company policies and procedures.
- Advise and assist with custom import and export process as required. Maintain accurate information in import/export register.
- Maintain master data, including but not limited to preferred supplier, lead time, and purchase price.
- Participate in physical inventory annual and cycle counts as required by business needs
- Measure supplier performance in line with company policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with procurement guidelines, company policies, and strategic company objectives.
- Identify improvement opportunities in the procurement function and actively participate in business productivity and operational excellence initiatives.
- Periodically review and update stocking levels for high running items
- Participate in sales and operations planning process.
- Ensure invoices for goods received are delivered to accounts payable for processing.
Required Capabilities (describe scope of knowledge and ability of the position):
- Strong background in purchasing/logistics practices in an operational setting
- Familiar with supplier management and quality system standards.
- Highly process oriented, with strong analytical and effective communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and operating within an ERP system such as Oracle or SAP.
- Strong attention to detail, organization skills and time management abilities.
Required Experience & Education:
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent in inventory management, supply chain management or business administration (or related)
- Minimum 3 years related experience as a Purchase/Logistics Specialist; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A preference for candidates with a proven track record in B2B supply chain and inventory management in Industrial or Manufacturing sector
