About the Centre
Brunswick Baths is a state-of-the-art aquatic and fitness centre located in the heart of Brunswick. The centre offers a wide range of facilities, including a 50-meter heated outdoor pool, a 20-meter heated indoor pool, a waterplay pool, a gym, a group fitness room, a functional training room, a spa, a sauna, and a steam room. Brunswick Baths is also home to a number of accessible facilities, including an aquatic hoist, an aquatic wheelchair, and changing rooms that are wheelchair accessible. The centre offers a variety of programs and classes for people of all ages and abilities, including swimming lessons, water aerobics, aqua aerobics, yoga, and Pilates. Brunswick Baths is a great place to stay active and healthy, and it is also a great place to meet new people and make friends.
About the role
Are you passionate about creating inclusive spaces and empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds to engage in physical activity? Brunswick Baths are seeking a dedicated QFit Instructor to join our team. As a QFit Instructor, you will play a vital role in delivering our Queer Friendly Inclusive Training Program (QFit), designed to increase participation rates for the LGBTQI+ community.
Your commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment will help individuals overcome barriers and foster social connections through group training sessions.
As a QFit Instructor, you will be responsible for:
Conducting QFit group training classes, including QFit HIT and QFit Strength, according to the established program guidelines and curriculum.
Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants, ensuring that individuals feel safe, respected, and supported throughout their fitness journey.
Developing and delivering engaging and effective workout routines that promote fitness, strength, and overall well-being.
Adhering to YMCA policies and procedures, including safety protocols and code of conduct, to maintain a secure and supportive environment for all participants.
This is a casual position with an hourly rate of $50.91 - $60.26 + super.
About you
You have a genuine passion for supporting and empowering the LGBTQI+ community, and have a good understanding of the unique barriers faced by this community in accessing physical activity.
You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Your empathy and patience shine through, as you understand the importance of a non-judgmental approach when working with participants.
You have experience and knowledge of best practices for creating safe and inclusive spaces.
You are committed to continuous learning and staying informed about LGBTQI+ terminology and issues.
Your positive attitude and enthusiasm inspire others to overcome barriers and achieve their fitness goals.
You thrive in a team environment and enjoy collaborating with others to create an inclusive and supportive community.

Qualifications
Certification in Group Fitness, Personal Training, or a related field.
Valid CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Current registration with Fitness Australia.
