We are searching high and low to find an outstanding Quality Assurance Point of Reference in Financial Crime Operations.
Our Regulatory and Control Operations (RACO), is accountable for leading a complex and diverse delivery of AML/CTF and financial crime controls across CBA.
RACO supports multiple Business Units, multiple global locations and multiple financial crime disciplines such as: Know Your Customer; On-boarding and on-going due diligence; Enhanced Customer Due Diligence; Transaction Monitoring, Payments Sanctions Screening; Customer Sanctions Screening; Politically Exposed Persons Screening; and Law Enforcement Agency Notices.
The Business Assurance (BA) team is responsible for analysing and recording insights through our Quality Assurance (QA) team who assist in maintaining our service standard and providing coaching and training to the wider RACO team.
This role requires engagement with internal teams both within RACO as well as the broader CBA Group.
This role reports to the Manager, Quality Assurance.
Do Work That Matters
- Drive improvements within RACO teams by:-
- Creating an operating rhythm with POR's and Managers to understand root cause of systemic quality issues. Develop and implement Cl initiatives to uplift quality metrics
- Working closely with QA Managers to provide quality insights on findings and assist with action planning to improve performance
- Support QA Managers with tasks such as driving monthly calibration and governance sessions; co-ordinating action plans based on themes identified from data analysis; reviewing and responding to correspondence from the Operations teams
- Drive improvements within QA teams by:-
- Delivering day-to-day SME support across all streams
- Monthly sampling of QA analysts work
- Working with Training team to uplift financial crime knowledge of QA team
- Staying up to date with emerging Australian & global financial crime themes and trends
- Forge strong relationship with key stakeholders such as the Operations teams, Line 1 Risk, and other lines of business
- Support the team in the development and updating of Process Maps, User Guides & SOP's whilst also contributing to any enhancement opportunities of the business streams documents
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by your Manager that you have the capability to perform safely and in line with relevant internal Group policies and external regulatory requirements
- Accountable for the preparation, collation, and facilitation of RACO Group level Reporting. Includes sourcing accurate, quality information and commentary from across RACO, determining suitability for inclusion in the report and submission to the GM, RACO for review ahead of submission deadlines.
- Accountable for the preparation, collation, and facilitation of the monthly FCOC and the Working Group. Includes sourcing information from across RACO, FCC and POA determining suitability for inclusion in the meeting and submission to the GM, RACO for review ahead of submission deadlines.
- Accountable for the coordination, management, tracking and updating any RACO allocated actions arising from materials presented at Governance Forums attended by RACO LT members.
- Support preparing the RACO LT members for various governance forums, ensuring they are informed/briefed, all actions completed, information provided that requires RACO attention is highlighted.
- Liaison with RACO EMs on matters relating to reporting and ad hoc requests for information to support the GM, RACO to be able to provide the correct information as required.
- Manage the collation of papers, metrics and facilitation of GM review for Business Unit NFRC Forums, including preparing EMs attending these forums/meetings.
- Manage the collation and facilitation of GM review for financial crime risk committee meetings and any other senior forum across the Group.
- Facilitate the completion of Risk Management Declaration and Directors Questionnaire responses for GM.
- Responsible for co-ordination (including the agenda, collation of packs and updating action items) and chairing of the RACO Governance Day and attending other Governance Forums as required.
- Responsible for ensuring all RACO Remediation items are appropriately documented, tracked and updated with relevant commentary at least monthly.
- Forge strong relationships with key stakeholders and vendors. This includes RACO Operations teams, Line 1 Risk, GO&T Strategy & Performance, Financial Crime Compliance, POA and all other relevant teams
- An understanding of the financial crime regulatory framework with knowledge of the AML/CTF, Sanctions and ABC risk environment
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate trends and insights to a large range of stakeholders
- Continuous improvement (Cl) mindset and the ability to utilise Cl tools
- Relevant industry certification/accreditation

- Quality Assurance/Control experience
- Tertiary qualification in finance/business/law or a relevant discipline
