As the Quality Manager for Drill Bits, you’ll be responsible for the design and deployment of continuous improvement activities as a result of audit findings and for the training and development of the teams.
In this role, you will be also responsible for:
- Planning, directing, and coordinating quality control functions for the drill bits product lines
- Directing and coordinating the overall quality activities covering various specifications and standards for materials, processes, and finished products to meet customer purchase order requirements
- Developing and implementing quality metrics to drive drill bits product improvements and business results
- Assisting other departments as necessary in formulating new products, establishing standards for these products prior to initial production, or overcoming difficulties in the use of company products
- Ensuring a means of collecting and distributing compiled information to improve quality
- Ensuring safe practices are used in compliance with all governmental regulations
- Working with Six Sigma Quality team to drive process changes
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university (or a high school diploma with at least 4 years of experience in an engineering or quality position)
- At least 3 additional years of experience in manufacturing or quality
- Prior experience in areas of quality assurance such as: DOE, incoming material control, process control, systems performance, product evaluation, MSA, metrology, automated testing, and software
- Ability to conduct internal and external quality audits to recognize improvement opportunities
- Lean background and/or Six Sigma Green Belt trained
- Experience with ISO9001/APIQ1/API/ASME and other international codes.
