The Role:
Due to recent expansion and an increase in tendering opportunities, we are currently seeking an Experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Bondi Junction. The successful applicant will have strong MS Excel skills; must be a team player, have effective organisational and communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, good time management and prioritisation, analytical skills and attention to detail.
Key Duties
• Review of contract documents including scope of works, specifications etc at tender stage.
• Develop lump sum pricing / bill of quantities on a range of civil, utility and infrastructure projects using first principle estimates and open market quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Risk management and safe construction techniques when developing construction methodologies and programs with construction team.
• Manage multiple tenders at any one time.
• Produce tenders from $5 million to $60 million.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing and negotiate subcontract terms and conditions.
• Estimate and monitor the projects through the construction phase to handover.
• Assisting the Construction and Commercial Teams to identify and prepare variations and EOT’s in accordance with the head contract.
Skills & Experience Required
• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience
• Ability to interpret drawings.
• Strong Organisational and Time-Management Skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Ability to work in isolation to meet deadlines.
• Sound negotiation skills.
• Excellent MS Excel skills with ability to construct MS Excel spreadsheets to suit relevant tenders.
• Tier 1/2 experience will be highly regarded but not essential.
