About the Opportunity
The Radioactive Plant Engineer is accountable for the plant, equipment, and related projects in their area. They must ensure specialised facilities have robust asset management plans and are maintained in line with these plans such that the plant can be operated safely to achieve optimum system performance and maximum availability. Working as part of a team the engineer will collaborate with operators and SMEs on a daily basis, plan and deliver projects, resolve breakdowns to tight deadlines, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives. The engineer can expect a varied and challenging engineering workload, progressively gaining subject matter expertise which is valued both across the business and by ANSTO's external partners internationally.

Your Duties and Responsibilities
Provide a holistic engineering service with the ultimate aim of ensuring safe, secure, and sustainable management of ANSTO’s radioactive waste and supporting assets.
- Actively develop detailed working knowledge of plant and radioactive waste management practises.
- Write and implement asset management plans including, but not limited to, assessing asset criticality, hosting FMECA workshops, implementing RBI/RBM programs, and aligning critical spares holdings.
- Represent WMS as client and SME for outsourced works including monitoring of projects and managing contracted works on site.
- Deliver capital and operational project engineering and management within schedule and budgetary constraints.
- Conduct engineering analyses and deliver technical documentation including regulatory submissions to a high professional standard.
- Monitor, manage, and report on safety and compliance of plant and project works within operational licence conditions and legislative requirements.
- Provide daily support to operators and ANSTO’s nuclear businesses to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve plant issues and breakdowns.
