Environmental Health and Compliance plays a vital role in protecting the health, environment and safety of our growing City. Our team of dedicated professionals are responsible for environmental protection and public health programs, development compliance, regulatory and Animal Services.
About the role
As the Ranger and Animal Services Coordinator you will lead and manage an effective team across a range of Regulatory functions, including parking enforcement, Animal Services and local laws enforcement. You will coordinate the day to day operations of the Rangers and Animal Services team, ensuring processes and protocols are in place along with relevant legislation and Council policies.
Essential criteria
- A tertiary qualification relating to the role e.g. Regulatory Services, or Compliance
- Experience in Local Government Law Enforcement
- Proven experience in staff management and leadership, and the ability to build teams with a commitment to high standards of performance
- High level understanding of the Road Rules 2014, Roads Regulations 2008, Local Government Act 1993, Companion Animals Act 1998, Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, Road Transport Act 2013, and Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act 2021
- Sound financial management experience, including budget management
- Legal/court experience as it relates to Ranger functions, including the preparation and presentation of evidence for Court proceedings
- Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high level customer service outcomes
- Experience in policy and procedure development
- Current Class C Driver Licence
Commencing salary: $109,032.00 per annum, plus 11% Superannuation.
Access to a Leaseback Vehicle or Motor Vehicle Allowance is available with this position; however, it is not a condition of employment.
