Queensland Parks and Wildlife have a temporary opportunity for a Ranger in Charge to join their team based at the Ripple Creek Ranger base in Ingham.
This role is essential to leading and managing a small diverse team of Rangers in the protection of Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships estates.

As the successful Ranger in Charge, you will work collaboratively with the Hinchinbrook Shire Council, First Nations people, and community associations. You will also contribute to ensure a high level of land management practices occur within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.
This role's focus area is to provide direction, support, mentoring and guidance to the Ingham team in all aspects of field work and administrative processes. This vital position reports to the Senior Ranger of the Ingham Management Unit.
As the successful candidate for this position, you will be someone who is keen and enthusiastic about what you do, can work well independently and as part of a team, and who can motivate others through their own performance and a strong work ethic.
Some areas of park estate are semi remote and have limited motorised vehicle access and the conditions can be physically challenging. Initiative and a good level of physical fitness will be essential for you in this role, as it requires a hands-on approach to delivering the units work program and delivery requirements. Your experience in the field of cattle management and fire management will see you succeed in successful outcomes for the estates you will be responsible for.
This role's area of focus is across Girringun National Park, Abergowrie State Forest, and Halifax Bay Wetlands National Parks.
