About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Rapid Rehousing Worker! You will provide intensive and timely support for consumers placed in crisis/emergency accommodation who have been assessed as being private rental ready. Additionally, you will work alongside the consumer to assist in securing support to the entry point in booking and monitoring support client's accommodation.

Responsibilities include

  • Provide support for clients residing in emergency accommodation funded by the entry point (who meet the requirements of the program) to access private rental
  • Provide case management support to clients, tailored to various needs, working intensively to find and secure private rental
  • Providing interim response support to clients for four weeks post securing a property and or referring to appropriate services
  • Develop case plan with consumers, such as agreed goals and timelines identified. Provide support to consumers for a period of 4-6 weeks
  • Send fortnightly updates to the team leader advising of their client's progress

This is a fixed-term full-time position, until June 2024, based in Geelong, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 4 Award.

What you will have

  • Experience working in the Homelessness sector and community service diploma qualification
  • Understanding of Victorian Homelessness & Housing service system, including legislative requirements
  • Strong ability to respond to the needs of individuals experiencing housing, homelessness and/or tenancy issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge of housing sector including role, context, principles, philosophies, tenancy law and legislation
  • Ability to remain calm and constructive in highly pressured/unpredictable situations
  • Well-developed communications skills and ability to engage people from varying backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals in case management process
  • High level of administrative skills
  • Current and valid Victorian Driver's Licence
