The Salvation Army Doorways program provides person-centred care to community members who are in financial crisis or suffering other forms of hardship or distress. Our practitioners are mindful of trauma informed practices, working within a strength-based context with holistic principles to build individual capacity, resilience, and well-being.
We are seeking a values driven and motivated Receptionists deliver high quality customer focused reception and administrative activities for The Salvation Army Doorways Launceston. As the first point of contact this role is essential in presenting a professional image and creating a welcoming, warm and positive first impression, whether via phone or in person.
You will successfully
Provide reception and administrative support to the Doorways Program primarily, and other Social/Corps programs as required.
Engage directly with clients daily and Undertake reception duties to support the day to day requirements of the area including answering phones, basic data entry referring queries to appropriate contact
Answering and responding to incoming calls and greeting clients/visitors arriving in person
Managing client appointments within Centre guidelines.
Effectively meet clients’ needs
Provide administrative support to Doorways Facilitator and other staff
Assist in maintaining accurate records and process
This is a permanent part time position 7.6 hours per week located in Launceston.
You will have
Understanding of those who are most marginalised in our community, and how to communicate with a broad range of people.
Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office, Online Information Systems, and general office equipment.
Ability to work under pressure and to manage those who present with challenging and difficult behaviours
A WWVP Card (TAS)
Willingness to undergo a Criminal History Check
A Mental Health First Aid Certificate (desirable)
