Reconciliation Coordinator 

  • Permanent part time 
  • 22.6 hours per week, Tuesday to Thursday @ 7.5 hours per day

You will provide strategic and operational leadership for all centre-based operations, which includes community preschools, long day care centres, out of school hours care and vacation care. Working with the CEO and Board, you will develop strategy and ensure its effective implementation to deliver on our vision. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the excellence of every centre by focusing on the quality of Centre Directors, their teaching teams, and positive outcomes for children.

What you’ll do

As the Reconciliation Action Plan Coordinator you will lead Big Fat Smile in the design, development and implementation of an orgnisational Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and associated activities. The role provides high-level support and advice across all services (birth-12 years) to educators and key stakeholders in the implementation of educational strategies relating to Indigenous education and engagement.

    What you need to be succeed 

    • Degree or Diploma in Education is desirable
    • Cleared Valid working with Children’s Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain
    • A valid driver’s licence
    • A high level understanding and awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and issues
    • Demonstrated experience working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a culturally appropriate manner
    • Experience developing a workplace RAP framework
    • Ability to design and deliver professional learning 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong organisational and time management skills
