Records Property Coordinator are team leaders in the prison environment. The role requires leadership, maturity, sound judgement and confidence in decision making, with developed capabilities to coach, mentor and motivate staff and prisoners. With highly developed communication and negotiation skills, the Records Property Coordinator leads staff to achieve program and service outcomes in a multidisciplinary team and rehabilitative environment for Marngoneet Correctional Centre / Karreenga.
Some of your duties will include:
- Leading and managing staff to ensure the safety and security of prisoners, staff and visitors.
- Train and support staff in all aspects of records management, maintenance of professional boundaries and contribution to prison security management.
- Deliver performance management and professional development guidance to custodial staff, taking responsibility for supervision and development of allocated team staff.
- Participate as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team, providing a quality assurance role to ensure the effective management of operational areas, with key emphasis on the development, delivery and evaluation of offender management programs and practices.
- Experience working within an operational records management environment.
- Knowledge of Corrections Victoria policies and practices relating to discharge operations.
- Appropriate clerical experience and an ability to develop and maintain records and systems relating to these administrative functions.
- Experience with Records Management within a Prison environment is desirable.
