Welcome to Sargood on Collaroy a world first resort purpose built for people living with Spinal Cord Injury.
We provide Short Term Accommodation and Assistance and Accessible Holidays with a team of qualified and dedicated staff, breath-taking ocean views and access to world-class facilities and activities. Club Sargood is located on site at Sargood on Collaroy and provides allied health services to guests and community clients.
The facility is proudly operated by Royal Rehab, Australia’s leading provider of rehabilitation and disability services.
About the role...
We are seeking someone who is fun, engaging, enthusiastic and confident. You must be ready to support our guests to participate in a range of different adaptive recreation and leisure activities including surfing, golf, cycling, snorkelling, mountain bike riding and much more. Bring your own skill set and ideas to the job.
The Sargood on Collaroy Recreation Program Coordinator is a unique and exciting role.
Key responsibilities include:
Must create a fun, exciting and supportive environment for all guests to encourage maximum participation in our recreation program.
Organisation, development and implementation of Weekly Activity Program which is specifically designed for people living with spinal cord injury.
Supervision, coordination and management of Recreation Assistants.
Provision of adapted recreation and leisure activities.
Assist with development and management of policy and risk assessments associated with the Weekly Activity Program and equipment.
Support the Program Coordinator - Specialist Courses with the provision of courses. With consultation it is expected that you will share equipment and staff.
Maintenance of recreation and leisure equipment and facilities in consultation with Clinical Operations Manager.
Contributing to marketing material as required.
Teamwork.
About you..

We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:
Tertiary qualifications in Recreation Therapy, Outdoor Recreation, Sport and Exercise Science, Health & Physical Education, Management in Sport and Exercise, or other Allied Health (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology) or equivalent relevant experience.
Recent experience and demonstrated skills working in outdoor recreation.
Experience surfing and other surfing like activities.
Skills and experience in networking and liaising with community sport and recreation organisations and associations.
Demonstrated experience developing and promoting recreation programs and/or courses and services within the community or organisational context.
Demonstrated competence in high level interpersonal communication, negotiation and conflict resolution.
Willingness to work outdoors on a regular basis and flexibility with hours, including weekends – Must work a Saturday.
Sound time management skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and complete tasks.
Computer literacy including demonstrated competence with Microsoft Office and the internet.
Current unrestricted NSW driver’s licence.
