Just moments from the city centre with immediate access to public transport, shops and cafes. It consists of 63 beds, with a variety of care units. The Role
As the Recreational Activities Officer, you will drive the energy, engagement, and participation of residents into a range of social, recreational, and cultural activities. You will also lead mental health and wellbeing programs which empower our resident's choices and independence.
The Recreational Activities Officer role will be offered as permanent full time to cover fortnightly rosters of the Care Home
Duties
•Plan, organise, and lead activities for our residents that will meet social and recreational needs while also promoting independence and increasing quality of life.
•Assess and document the effectiveness of the programs, by tracking residents' progress and changing the programs as needed
Skills and Experience
•Minimum of a Cert III in Leisure and Lifestyle
•Senior First Aid Certificate is essential
•Previous experience within an aged or community care setting
•Highly developed organisation and time management skills
•The ability to solve problems independently
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
