This is a career opportunity for a customer focussed individual with substantial experience and knowledge of public sector recruitment and selection programs and services, to lead a cohesive and productive team in administering an online recruitment system.

About our team

The Recruitment Systems and Reporting Team is part of the Staff Recruitment and Employment Services branch that delivers recruitment services to over 830 public schools and a wide range of central services clients. We partner with school principals and line managers and support them to recruit the most suitable staff for their worksites. Our focus is on ensuring we provide expert recruitment system support within public sector best practice, and develop client focussed strategies and systems which achieve successful recruitment outcomes.

The Recruitment Systems and Reporting Team offer a robust team working environment with the satisfaction that the recruitment system support and reporting that we provide to our clients contributes to the best possible outcomes for our students. Our team provide system support and reporting, for the more than 25,000 vacancies and nearly 145,000 applications that drive the staff movements across the Department in any given year. To manage our high volume of recruitment activity, the Department has developed a modified version of the Recruitment Advertising Management System (RAMS), the WA State Government’s contracted e-Recruitment system.

The job opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who is experienced in the administration and maintenance of an online recruitment and selection system.

As the Recruitment Systems Coordinator you will provide leadership, direction, support and guidance in the development and maintenance of the Department’s online RAMS and the PeopleSoft Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS), in the administration and delivery of position management services.

This function plays an integral role in identifying strategies and online initiatives to maximise the system’s performance and provide professional support in the delivery of recruitment services to over 830 public schools and a wide range of central services clients.

The successful applicant will be responsible for monitoring, analysing and reporting on data within the RAMS and HRMIS, in addition to identifying, testing and implementing systemic and process alterations to best utilise the RAMS systems functionality. Ensuring processes to manage and evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment and selection programs and services are implemented and maintained.

Leading a cohesive team of System Analyst, Candidate Management Administrator and Position Management staff, you would plan and coordinate the activities and responsibilities of team members, whilst ensuring professional and timely support is provided to clients. You would also maintain positive and collaborative relationships with system service providers, the Department’s ICT area, the Public Sector Commission (PSC) and other key stakeholders, to ensure effective system performance.

The role will require you to provide leadership, direction, support and guidance to staff in the administration and delivery of system related training for clients using our online recruitment system.

This role is an ideal opportunity for an individual who is skilled in the administration of an online recruitment system, with public sector experience, to work with a diverse set of clients, and lead a motivated, cohesive and productive Recruitment Systems and Reporting Team.

The selection process

This selection process will initially be used to fill this permanent vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies, permanent or fixed term, that occur throughout our directorate for up to twelve (12) months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:
  • Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy; and
  • Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
TRAINING

Employees will be required to:
  • Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • Complete any training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
  • Complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
