Why this role matters
To assist the Recycling Centre Coordinator and Corps Officers with the daily operations of the Bundamba Re.Turn It centre, utilising a friendly customer experience and assisting in the efficiency of operations that support the achievements of TSA mission.
As the Recyclinc Centre Assistant you will be receiving, counting and sorting recyclable containers brought in by customers for refund. The position is also required to assist with the maintenance and safe operation of the centre, including operating a forklift and driving a manual Pantech truck, when required.
This is a casual position located in Bundamba, QLD.
The role you could play
- Provide assistance in the daily operations of the Re.Turn It centre that helps to ensure it is operating at an optimum level
- Assist with open/close procedures, maintenance of the cleanliness of the centre, stacking and moving crates with forklift; driving manual Pantech truck, when required
- Provide of respectful, friendly and helpful customer service
- Count and sort containers, ensuring containers are appropriately stored and ready for collection by third party
- Ensure retail area is clean and tidy, maintaining a safe presentation
- Cash register operations, reconciliations and handling
What you will bring
- Demonstrated customer service experience working in a retail environment with an ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Proven experience in the recycling/transport industry is desirable
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Unrestricted C Class License is essential
- Forklift License is desirable
- Driver's License
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
The Salvation Army is subject to public health orders. You may be required to provide evidence of vaccine status dependent on requirements.
