Job description

  • 12 months non-ongoing (with possible of extension)
  • 38 hours per week
  • Canberra
  • Gross Annual Salary: $92,947.50 and access to Salary Packaging
  • This is an immediate vacancy and interviews will be held as applications are received and assessed

About the role

Job specific competencies include:

  • Lead the management of the Territories Redress Scheme (TRS) Support Program 2022-2026, that provides advocacy to survivor participants, their families and services supporting Stolen Generations survivors
  • Protect and promote the welfare and rights of TRS applicants
  • Lead the provision of high-level policy advice to The Healing Foundation (THF) and the National Indigenous Australian’s Agency (NIAA) based on the feedback and experience of participants and key stakeholders
  • Engage with the NIAA TRS Administration Team to champion trauma aware, healing informed approaches and principles
  • Engage with the NIAA Stakeholder Engagement Team in the development of external facing communications with a trauma aware, healing informed lens

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Project management experience
  • Minimum Advanced Diploma or equivalent qualification in Consumer Advocacy, Governance, Community Development, Social Science, Management, or another related field
  • Ability to travel and support the Healing Foundation’s activities across a variety of regional and remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • To ensure the safety of those most vulnerable people in the community, you must be able to provide evidence of Covid-19 vaccination
