This role will see you completing TAFE and on the job training at Keswick, SA. We are looking for applications from candidates willing to be committed to completing their certificate III for the duration of the apprenticeship. Post apprenticeship there are long term trade opportunities on site with UGL that could see you develop into many career paths, Planning, Technical Support, Supervision and Production Management.
Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic Apprenticeship- Certificate III

We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join our skilled, supportive, and passionate team.
- This role will see you experiencing a variety of refrigeration & air conditioning work from installing to maintenance in a service environment.
- You'll work with skilled, qualified technicians who will be able to train and support you become an excellent refrigeration mechanic that completes high quality work.
- This is a full-time role working at the Keswick Rail Terminal based in Adelaide.
- We will assist you in enrolling into TAFE to start your Certificate III in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning trade.
Some of your duties will include:
- Conduct assessments on rollingstock air conditioning / refrigeration systems.
- Complete preventative services and inspections within the scope of trade knowledge
- Diagnose malfunctions, faults and breakdowns of the system and perform necessary.
- Fit new systems and remove old systems and faulty equipment.
- Work alongside other trades people including electricians, fitters, and carriage builders.
- Ensure active involvement in Lean Manufacturing and 5S activities.
- A strong commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
- Select the appropriate materials, methods, equipment, and tools necessary to complete the job.
- Maintain adherence to proper housekeeping practices, rail safety protocols, environmental regulations, and necessary precautions at all times.
- Carry out other relevant tasks assigned by the Shift Supervisor
