About the position
Ideally starting around September 2023 and based in our Australian head office location in Sydney, the Regional Director, Strategy & Transhipment will be a senior liaison within the Australian commercial team. You will assist with the development and implementation of commercial strategies within the Australian arm of CSL Group. In this role, you will play an important part in developing new business opportunities including complimentary shipping, transhipping cargo and adjacency acquisitions. You will also assist with the preparation of proposals and support the review and renewal of existing contracts near expiry.
The Regional Director, Strategy & Transhipment will also act as internal consultant and provide support to various internal teams in relation to business case preparations and reviews. You will also work closely with CSL Group’s Enterprise Project Management Office representatives and establish formal project structures for larger more complex proposals. This position will suit someone who has a strong financial background and has experience in a customer facing environment. Ideally you will also have experience and knowledge of the contract negotiation process.
About you
Ideally 10 years’ experience in maritime (preferably) or logistics and supply chain
Degree level qualification in commerce, finance, law, or related field
Beneficial to have held consultancy or business development positions with a core focus on sales and growth and business development within a client facing environment
Ability to enter into contract negotiations with clients and suppliers
Experience with business case preparation, including strong financial acumen
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Ability to think strategically that aligns with company objectives
Ability to partner and build strong relationships both externally and internally
