Job Description
We are seeking a passionate safety leader to join our Group Health, Safety and Environment team in Sydney. You will partner with Site leadership teams, Frontline Managers and Operators to nurture and develop our Safety Obsessed culture and drive our HSE strategy.
With a focus on stakeholder partnership, the ability to influence and engage is essential. You will oversee multiple Warehouse, Transport and Logistics operations in Sydney and Greater Sydney across our Fuels and Gas, Government and Defence and Global Forwarding client group, playing an intrinsic role in implementing HSE initiatives and training across all of sites, striving to maintain and grow our positive safety culture and performance.
Responsibilities include:
Take the lead in coaching and mentoring your stakeholder groups on HSE strategies and activities.
Develop and review all Site HSE Plans with business stakeholders, ensuring alignment and assist the business in achieving all objectives and targets.
Be accountable for driving HSE governance processes including undertaking HSE system and compliance audits and preparing these self-insured sites for quality, customer and safety audits.
Identify and implement HSE training and communication programs that clearly articulate safety expectation.
Provide HSE and risk management advice to business leaders particularly in relation to complex operational matters that require input from a HSE subject matter expert.
Review the quality of information submitted into TRAC, including safety conversations, hazard identifications, corrective actions, incidents and investigations and person hours.
Qualifications
Cert IV or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and / or other relevant discipline
ICAM Certification (desired)
Knowledge/Experience
Practical HSE experience in a dynamic environment across multiple operations.
Highly effective relationship management of both internal clients and external customers.
Experience conducting incident investigations and participating in third party audits and corrective action planning.
Technical/Professional Skills required.
Detailed knowledge of HSE legislation, industry standards and management system standards (AS4801, OHSAS18001 & ISO14001).
Excellent written and communication skills.
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable experience in a similar role with multi-site responsibilities, coupled with exemplary knowledge of HSE legislative and compliance requirements. A background in Transport and knowledge of Dangerous Goods would be highly regarded.
