When was the last time you felt a real sense of purpose in your work?
As a Regional Manager at Water Corporation, you’ll see how much impact your work has on your community. You’ll feel a huge sense of personal accountability for people’s wellbeing, and you know how much of an integral role you play in ensuring they have access to a safe, fresh water supply.
You’ll lead a high-performing operations team of over 160 people who, like you, are dedicated to providing sustainable water and wastewater services in the Goldfields and Agricultural Region.
You will also be responsible for the iconic Golden Pipeline installed over 120 years ago.
What the role will involve
You’ll support households, businesses, and farmers with access to safe drinking water and fit-for-purpose water every day. Your community is around you, bringing you closer to the things you enjoy, like improving safety, tweaking customer service, and engaging a variety of stakeholders.
You’ll partner closely with the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) to ensure we are continually meeting and exceeding environmental requirements and community expectations. You take personal ownership, and your work doesn’t go unnoticed.
Then there’s the other side to this story – your team.
You’ll ensure they have everything they need to do their best work. Removing obstacles and supporting them through challenges. Helping them become the best they can be in their roles.
Working as part of our high-performing Country Regions Leadership Team, you’ll play a big part in the Corporation’s future and strategy and collaborate with peers across the State to jointly raise the bar on operational excellence.
This is a fulfilling role where everything comes together. You have a complete view of what’s happening across the region. You understand why water is such a vital resource and why you’re an important part of the fabric of this community.
Like most jobs, this role has its challenges. Your organisation and planning skills will be continually fine-tuned so that your people and the work they deliver add value. Maintaining assets across the State, your calm manner, and agile thinking will help your team effectively manage issues and respond to customers with a can-do attitude while keeping safety front of mind.
If you’re beginning to consider looking into this role, you might find the variety and diversity of work is something that’ll keep you more than busy. There’ll also be opportunities to learn from faults, issues, and successes, along with enough room to bring your own ideas to the table.
About you
Whether you’ve worked in water, gas or power, your utilities operations background paired with a relevant degree and strong understanding of regulatory requirements and legislation will put you in pole position.
Your understanding of how relationships between government, local businesses and customers are shaped will help you hit the ground running. Most importantly, you have a track record for growing and leading strong teams of highly skilled people and a history of implementing and improving a strong safety culture in previous leadership roles.
